80’s Party at my place
Saturday night was a flash back to the 80’s. I hosted a pre-halloween themed party at my loft. It was quite the scene with everyone decked out in their best 80’s get-up. Big hair, 80’s rockers, solid gold dancers, and of course great 80’s music added to the flavor of the night. DJ Angie was spinning everything from Prince to Duran Duran - it was like my high school prom all over again -
I put my living room furniture in storage to make room for the 175 guests. Nothing like having a loft with flexible use of space
(above) Stacey and Adam gear up for the dance floor - 80’s style (You may recognize Stacey from my show - she’s one of my design assistants. Adam works in my office as the PR go-to)
Aaron Foster, from HGTV’s FreeStyle (on the right) came dressed as the typical 80’s yuppie stock broker. I opted for the Duran Duran look.

Love these, had to have ‘em…
Being from Lousisiana, I have seen my share of deer heads. This one takes the prize - no deer was hurt in the process. It is carved out of heavy balsa wood using a computer program - making it a great conversation piece. I hung mine right outside my office.
Also, I love real topiaries. These 2 paired together are a great way to keep things fresh during the fall season. The taller one is an Olive tree while the other is a Calamondin tree (which produces edible citrus fruit called Kumquats). I keep them on my kitchen counter so I can eat the fruit right off the tree.

Architectural Digest hosted a party at the Armani Casa showroom in Los Angeles the other night. It was nice to see the new line of furniture coming out of Milan. The look of Giorgio Armani’s furniture is just as classic as his suits. Rich grey flannel furniture paired with chic metal flooring strike a great contrast. I also fell in love with the black felt wall dividers& #0133;what a great way to change the layout of a room very quickly. I wish I had some for my loft.
I also had a great time speaking with design icon Paige Rense, the editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest for the past 35 years. I remember reading this magazine as a little kid in Louisiana and thinking& #0133;Wow, who lives like that?
Public Relations Director for Giorgio Armani, Barry Frediani, was also on hand – he tells me that Armani is coming out with a kitchen line. It is currently in the Milan showroom and should be coming to the states in February! He says it is very sleek, and all appliances are hidden behind doors – very James Bond -like.
