This ottoman was custom designed and made for this room. The red embossed top is from Edelman leathers.

Kenneth, Congratulations on your little girl due to arrive in August. I am a neonatal ICU nurse...so needless to say I have an extreme love for babies. Just cannot think of any other job I would want to have. You are in for a lifetime of so much joy and love. The room you are designing for her looks adorable. Hi Kenneth, I am finishing up school right now in San Francisco and about to start my own design firm/studio. I have been fortunate enough over the past 3-4 years to work for some amazing designers, work as a junior designer on a consulatant basis for a designer; creating concepts and completing installations, and working with a fellow student to create our portfolio via low rate/pro bono work on quite a few residential designs and top to bottom renovations. All that said, based on your experience after working with the Hollywood firm for the casino designs in Vegas...how did you market yourself in order to create a great client list when you started Kenneth Brown Design? Referals are the most important part of a designer’s business. My first job after leaving a large firm was working with a contractor who was flipping houses. She gave me full reign over all design choices and without realizing it, I was able to show the potential buyers and real estate agents my work. After completing 12 real estate flips with Lorrie (the contractor), word had spread about my work and that was the beginning of my private practice. To this day, I get calls from potential clients who remember seeing a house I did with Lorrie over 12 years ago.
