We received over 1000 emails this past weekend from the msn.com piece I was featured in. The great thing is that many of you posed excellent design questions that are perfect for the next update under the “Ask Kenneth” section. In addition to this, we received some good pointers as well.
For instance, someone offered diet advice for my overweight dog, Oliver. It sounds promising, so I thought I would share (in case anyone else has an overweight dog out there). The key is to cut their kibble portion in half and replace the other half with green beans. It fills them up without adding a lot of calories. Thanks for that - I’m going to give it a try.
Another comment was about describing tranquil rooms. I have often described these calming, peaceful rooms as Zen on my TV show. A nice guy wrote in to say that it’s not appropriate to describe a design style as Zen, since Zen Buddhism is a religion. Very good to know - I learn something new everyday.
And to all of you that wished my mom well, I am happy to report that she will be returning home from the Hospital tomorrow. I want to thank all of the nurses and her doctor at Baton Rouge General for taking great care of her.
Check back soon as we hope to have many answers to share in the “Ask Kenneth” section by this Friday -

What a great way to end the week. On top of installating 2 different design projects (Hollywood and Vine and one of my favorite clients of all time, Dennis Hammer) my MSN.com piece went live on their site today. If you get a chance today, check out the home page msn.com Many friends have been saying it was a shock to turn on their computer and be staring at my face this morning. My mom who is currently in the hospital - GET WELL MOM! - enjoyed the surprise.
I firmly believe that all budgets deserve good design and MSN.com has allowed me the opportunity to demonstrate this. By pulling accessories from msn shopping, you can see how easy it is to update any one of your rooms with accessories. Everyone at MSN.com was great to work with and I look forward to our next piece.
Each season I will be offering tips and trends along with products that you can purchase so you can update your home without breaking the bank.
